Though I have followed Eric Mason for some time, this is the first of his books I have managed to read. It did not disappoint. While some may consider this book too basic for mature Christians, I would recommend it to anyone. However, I would definitely recommend it to new Christians. It covers a handful of topics that cause you to give pause and reflect on the idea of sanctification. It is about becoming more like Christ.
Too often Christian teachers and theologians make this process too hard to understand. I wish more would be like Mason and break it down on an easy to understand level. It is not that the process is easy or can even be comprehended, but the way in which we describe it should be easier. Mason was not afraid of hitting deep ideas, but doing it in a way in which any believer would be able to apply them to their life.
Unleashed is an excellent book and one that I could see becoming part of our church’s discipleship methods in the future. If you consider yourself a mature believer, purchase this book and use it to mentor others. If you are a new Christian, purchase this book and obtain wisdom to become more like Christ. That is our ultimate goal.
I received this book for free from B&H Publishers in exchange for an unbiased review. These words reflect that and have not been influenced in any way by the publisher.
