In case you haven’t noticed, most of the writing lately has been about the new year and all the things that comes about because of that. I thought that it would be proper to note that as an accountant in the private sector, our busy season runs a different pattern than those in public accounting. In public accounting most people are busy from the first of the year through April 15th. Everyone wants to have someone file their taxes for them and then the rest of the year it’s a little slower. In the private sector, things are different. We are typically busy around the first week and a half every month to close out the previous month. That’s easy compared to this part of the year. At this point we are closing out the year and there is a greater amount of work that must be completed as well as the normal workload. I will be glad when it is all finished.
As of 11:14 a.m. on January 26th, I am pressing publish on this post. It’s far too long to leave one hanging. I have neglected to come back and finish it, like I said I would. I said I would come back and finish it, but I didn’t, and I let it be known at the beginning that I wasn’t very good at finishing things. With that, I quote the Foo and say, “Done, done, and I’m on to the next one”.
